MUMS AT WORK NETWORKING EVENT

30th August 2021

Sinead Norton

Last Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the first in person networking event since lockdown started. When Sinead Norton, founder of the Mums at Work Network, announced the networking event at The Merchant Hotel Belfast, I was so excited! Finally I got to meet up with the other members again in person and it didn’t disappoint.

Sinead commenced the evening by welcoming everyone and we all agree how wonderful if was to see people in person! There were so many familiar faces there that I loved meeting up with again. Plus I got to meet lots of new ladies, who I either been chatting to online during lockdown or never met before. Sinead summed up perfectly the personal challenges that everyone has experienced over the past two years. She recognised the way that members have supported each other throughout the pandemic.

This woman is an inspiration. She has been through so much in the past year and still found time to keep the network alive and prospering. She said, “As you know, in the past year, I was told the words that no one wants to ever hear. ‘You have cancer’ and I had to get through that. I wouldn’t have been able to get through that without the personal support from ALL of you in this room.”

Then it was over to the ladies in the room to introduce themselves. Everyone took turns on the mic to give an introduction to themselves and their business. It was great hearing their stories and I captured some fun shots of them in action

Then it was time for everyone to network outdoors in the beautiful Roof Garden, as they enjoyed the last of the summer sunshine. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, whilst soaking up the city vibes.

I don’t know if it was the excitement of spending time with people again or the heat. I was so tired by the end of the night. Thankfully my good friend Aisling O’Connor from Dream Beauty was driving and I could relax on the journey home. We had loads to chat about from the evening and couldn’t wait to check out the fabulous goodie bags!! I’ll share the contents below. Without a shadow of doubt, the best goodie bag I have every received at an event.

Thank you!

Thank you so much Sinead (and her team of helpers) for the best evening. It was so good to be back with the Mums At Work gang and I’m really looking forward to the autumn Coffee Mornings starting in September. As an Ambassador for the Dungannon area, I will be hosting my first networking coffee morning on Tuesday 5th October. This will take place in The Gables, Donaghmore. Tickets will be available for the event in the near future. Get in touch if you would like to book your place
