FAQs

— WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
We can shoot outdoors, on location or at your home. I'm happy to provide suggestions once we have had an initial chat at our pre-shoot consultation. Sometimes families prefer to be at home and document a special event in their lives. We can head off to a beach or the countryside. You can also create a bespoke indoor experience if you prefer something more timeless and stylish. It's totally up to you
— WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I MAKE A BOOKING?
Once a booking is confirmed, we will have an online consultation where I help you prepare for your session. We will discuss what to wear, what to bring along on the day and discuss where you intend to display your beautiful portraits after the shoot. Your initial gallery of images from the session will be available around 2 weeks after your shoot. I am happy to come out to your home at this stage and have a chat about where you could display your pieces of art or you can view online for 48 hours after the gallery is ready. You place your order at this stage and your chosen portraits will be professionally edited personally by me in my signature style before going to print. Turnaround time for this stage depends on the volume of your order & the production time for the items that you have ordered. You will be fully briefed at the ordering stage of expected turnaround times.
— WILL MY PRINTS AND WALL ART STAND THE TEST OF TIME?
I use only the finest quality professional photographic labs to print my work so that you have beautifully hand-crafted heirlooms for years to come. There are a wide range of wall art products for you to choose from, allowing you to showcase your portraits at home
— DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
A £50 non refundable retainer fee is required to secure your session with the balance payment for your shoot due on the day. Additional products are then purchased separately after the session from my A la Carte Menu. At no time are you are under any obligation to purchase anything if you don’t wish to however that's never the case as my clients always fall in love with their portraits. Most clients tend to spend on average £250 - £750 on prints or wall art.
— HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE SESSION?
Prices shown are for one family unit (Parent(s) & their children). Additional family members can be included but there may be a price adjustment to reflect extra time required. Happy to discuss at time of booking and provide an accurate price

Family Portrait Photography

I was fortunate enough to win a number of awards last year.  The one I am most proud of is The Photographer’s Bar, from The Guild of Photographers.  This is a unique distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild of Photographers over the course of a year.  You must attain a score that evidences an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency throughout that full year.

Guild Director Lesley Thirsk said “I am delighted for Catriona as this is a great achievement! Submitting and having images assessed every month for a year and reaching the required standards to become a member of the Photographers Bar is very demanding.  It illustrates her commitment, skill and consistency.  Catriona should be very proud of what she has achieved.”
