WAGGY WOODLAND WALK – CANCER FOCUS NI

11th June 2022

Cancer Focus NI held a special fundraising event on Saturday 28th May at Springhill House, Moneymore. I was lucky enough to be invited to attend and capture images from The Waggy Woodland Walk. You all know by now that I absolutely love animals, so when the opportunity came up to spend a day with these gorgeous dogs, I didn’t have to think twice. As a gesture of support, I am donating £3 from every customer’s photo order from the event to Cancer Focus NI.

Cancer Focus NI Fundraising

The Waggy Woodland Walk was a family-friendly event organised by Emma McCann. People were invited to come along and enjoy a spring walk with their furry, four-legged friend. It had the added benefit of helping Cancer Focus NI help raise essential funds. This enables them to continue supporting local cancer patients & their families across Northern Ireland.

Waggy Woodland Walk

They provide care and support services for cancer patients and their families; offer a range of cancer prevention programmes to help people lessen their risk of getting cancer. Cancer Focus NI fund scientific research into the causes and treatment of the disease. They also campaign for better health policy to protect the community and its future. Most of their work is funded through donations and fundraising so they really need our support.

Waggy Woodland Walk

This family-friendly event took place on Saturday 28 May. Dog owners & their playful pooches were invited to attend and explore one of the many beautiful walking routes on the grounds. Springhill House has some spectacular views and there were bluebells and blossoms aplenty. Attendees were also able to enter an amazing raffle and various fun competitions on the day.

There were lots of dog themed vendors and exhibitors on the day, ranging from pet portrait artists to pawsome treat manufacturers!  Spires K9 dog training Magherafelt demonstrating their skill in dog training and agility and the PSNI also put on a display with their special dog unit.

The event was a massive success and I’m delighted to hear that Emma will be holding another one next year again. Definitely pop along if you have a love of dogs. You won’t regret it.

Springhill House

It would be remiss of me not to share a few images that I took on the day of the spectacular grounds at Springhill. This property is a 17th-century plantation house just outside Moneymore, Co Derry in Northern Ireland. The National Trust have owned the property since 1957. As well as the house, there are fabulous gardens, walks and an impressive costume collection. There is also supposed to be a ghost but I didn’t see any on the day …
