What is the format of the Intermediate Photography Course?

This is a Six Week In Person Course, with the first five lessons delivered in the classroom. The final takes place outdoors where we put the knowledge into practice, experimenting with your new skills and creative techniques. You also become a member of a dedicated Facebook Group where you will be inspired with photo challenges and constructive review of your images. There is also the opportunity to feature in our Student Gallery section of the website. Everyone who finishes the course will receive a dedicated blog post of their work and a certificate of completion

Who should attend the Intermediate Photography Course?

Ideally you will have completed the Beginners Photography Course with The Photo Academy NI, however it’s not essential. You will need to have access to either an SLR camera or mirrorless camera and also a tripod. It is expected that you have a good understanding of what the exposure settings on your camera are and how they impact on your work. These include Aperture, Shutter Speed & ISO. There will be a very quick recap of this on the first week before we move on to the new content.

It’s suitable for amateur photographers wanting to up their skill levels, experimenting with long exposure photography and light painting. Maybe you want to learn how to take better portraits or improve your landscape shot. Perhaps you are studying photography for GCSE or A Level and want to add more creative images to your portfolio of work.

Why choose The Photo Academy NI?

I am a full time professional photographer, with a background in coaching and mentoring prior to becoming a photographer. Having studied photography myself, I know what it’s like to start from the beginning when you are trying to find the right coach. There is a plethora of free information on YouTube but it’s not the same as getting that in person lesson where you can ask the questions you need answered

I have taught hundreds of people how to get the most from the camera and improve their skills. Have a look at my main photography page or google reviews where you can see the fantastic feedback I have received over the years. Unlike some courses I’ve purchased in the past, I am generous with my knowledge and don’t hold back. I am driven by passion to inspire others and find it so rewarding watching my students grow in confidence.
